Success Stories: Interviews with Holistic Cancer Survivors is insightful. It has interviews with dozens of individuals who experienced cancer remission — what exactly did they do?

Interview

Excerpts from the short video below:

Interviewer: "15 years ago, Chris Wark was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He opted out of chemotherapy and cured his disease with food!"

Interviewer: "Why nutrition? Why did you decide to opt out of chemotherapy & radiation and say nutrition is the way?"

Chris: "Well, I had this epiphany pretty early on in the cancer journey and that was that the way I was living was killing me. And I realized that there's more to health and disease than just medical treatment. Medical treatment can be very helpful, very beneficial." [chris had surgery]

Chris: "... but what a lot of people don't know and this is so important is that up to 95 percent of cancers are caused by diet, lifestyle and environment! So our choices really have a lot to do with our health! So I just decided I've got to change my whole life! I've got to take massive action! I've got to create an environment where cancer cannot thrive! That was my goal and so the way you do that is with nutrition with the food you put in your body is what your body's made of and it describes that environment."

Chris: "When you give your body an abundance of fruits and vegetables, you are putting in all of these amazing compounds -- phytonutrients -- these are plant nutrients that have anti-cancer benefits in the body that are anti-inflammatory that can stop cancer growth that can tell cancer cells to commit suicide. So there's all this amazing research on the anti-cancer power of fruits and vegetables. Yeah! We just got to get them in there and let your body use what it needs." "I went from eating basically one to two servings of fruits and vegetables per day to between 15 and 20 servings of fruits and vegetables every day!"

"The first oncologist I saw told me I was insane. So I didn't go back to him. An integrative oncologist supported me. He ordered my blood work, ordered my scans, and just monitored my progress, you know, for years. He was apprehensive and concerned that the cancer would come back. He wasn't sure if what I was going to do was going to help me. But as my blood work came back better and better scans kept coming back clean, he got really excited too!"

(4 mins, 2022) How Chris Wark Beat Cancer
Diet

Around 2014, Chris outlined his daily meal plans in a video (see below) with organic whole food, plant-based meals. Interestingly, Chris did not opt for chemo, just like Ruth Heidrich.

As of 2019, Chris was not 100% plant-only. In this article from 2019 (at Wayback Machine), he mentioned that about 2% to 3% of his intake was derived from non-plants, which is comparable to the diets of Blue Zone populations.

What does Chris eat in 2021? Let me know and I'll update this webpage.

(4 mins, 2014) What I Eat on my Plant-Based Diet (My Meals for One Whole Day)

In this video, Chris outlined his daily meal plans with organic whole food, plant-based meals: 65% carbs, 25% fat, 10% protein. Full recipes: What I Ate Today (and pretty much every day) (18 Sep 2014).
