Dr Natalie Marshall is an Integrative Oncologist at UCSF. An insightful presentation below. She explains mechanisms through which exercise helps us fight cancer. Strength training is great! Yoga & tai-chi style exercises are also great! The first 20-25 mins are kinda slow going but the talk then picks up momentum with some technical details trickling in. At the 42-min mark, she shows simple 'exercise snacks' that we can do sitting in a chair.
How much exercise? Below is a key slide which can motivate us to exercise at least 1 hr daily. About 70% of exercise-related benefits in a week can be accrued through the 8.25 hours of moderate-to-physical exercise.
Dr Kathryn Schmidt is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Penn State University. She specializes in exercise oncology. Her book was recommended by Dr Natalie Marshall in her talk above.
