Sathu Maavu is a mixture of several whole grains and beans — some are soaked & sprouted; others are roasted, then the mixture is dried and ground into a flour.

This recipe has an amazing combination of grains, beans and nuts! Some of the ingredients are soaked and sprouted; others are dry roasted. Finally, all ingredients are ground together into a flour. Instead of grinding into a flour, I wonder if we could grind them into uniform-sized larger pieces, then boil the mixture for cooking.

What to preapre with Sathu Maavu? This grains-beans-nuts combination is versatile. WE can prepare all of these: Kanji / Kali (porridge / gruel), Kozhukuttai / Kolukattai (steamed dumplings), Chapati / Adai / Poli / Cheela (flat bread and its variations), Ladoo / Puttu / Urundai (energy balls), Biscuit, Dosa (a common South Indian, pancake-style preparation), Idiyappam, Cutlets, Idli (steamed dumplings), Cake, Muffinsa, Thattai (crackers), Pudding, Payasam (soupy dessert), Halwa (dessert).

For Whole Food Plant-Based recipes, we would have to adapt recipes by eliminating milk and milk derivatives like ghee, butter, buttermilk, curd, yogurt, cream, and so on. Also, we would have to elminate oil (replace by some nut paste or seed paste; saute in water) and sugar (replace by dates or date sugar or date syrup).
