The first time I heard that bread was a major source of sodium in our diet, I was surprised! Isn't bread mildly sweet, primarily made of carbohydrates? Yeah, but it also has a significant amount of sodium (derived from salt added to bread)! Is there an SOS-Free bread, with no Salt, Oil or Sugar? Luckily, yes! Ezekiel 4:9 Low Sodium bread.
Bread and rolls are among the top sources of sodium in USA! Bread is used in sandwiches and pizza too, another major source of sodium.

In 2025, we have several varieties of bread which are oil-free and sugar-free (with no Added Sugars) available in shops like Sprouts, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. However, most such breads have high sodiuim. For example, 1 slice of bread shown in the picture above has only 140 calories but 350 mg sodium!
