WHOLE GRAIN. Healthy eaters eat Thai jasmine brown rice. It has both bran & germ. The bran is the brown outer layer. The germ is the tiny little white dot at the tip of each grain. Put together, bran & germ are loaded with micronutrients (vitamins, minerals) & fiber.
Look for the green logo by Thai govt that certifies that the package has authentic Thai jasmine rice.
Many individuals want to eat Thai jasmine brown rice but their family doesn't. Idea: cook large quantities of Thai jasmine brown rice. Divide them into 4-5 portions, package them individually in plastic wraps and freeze them. Microwave for 90 seconds and they will taste as good as freshly cooked Thai jasmine brown rice.
Thai jasmine brown rice has an expiration date. It goes bad quicker than Thai jasmine white rice. Why? The oil in bran & germ goes rancid over time. Store jasmine brown rice in fridge or a cool dark place.
WHOLE GRAIN with bran, germ & endosperm. Nutrition rich. The red color is due to anthocyanins, which are health promoting. We can freeze small portions of cooked red rice in plastic containers. And re-heat in a microwave.

May be called "Black Jasmine Rice" on labels even though this is not jasmine rice at all. For example, see this brand of Black Jasmine Rice.
Not the same as "Thai Black Sticky Rice" / "Thai Black Sweet Rice" / "Thai Black Glutinous Rice" (Glutinous doesn't mean that it has 'gluten'; it merely refers to texture). Turns out that Thai Riceberry Rice and Thai Black Sticky Rice look exactly the same: they are both black in color and difficult to distinguish from each other. So read labels carefully.
NOT A WHOLE GRAIN. 2nd most popular in Thailand. Labeled as "Thai Sweet Rice" or "Thai Glutinous Rice". Opaque white in color. Can't be confused with regular Thai Jasmine White Rice. Different from sushi rice (which is also white in colors).
More calories than regular Thai jasmine white rice.
Glutinous doesn't mean that it has 'gluten'. It refers to texture.
Healthy eaters eat Thai Black Sticky Rice / Thai Black Glutinous Rice / Thai Black Sweet Rice which is a whole grain.
Rice is not recommended by Dr Greger, Dr Klaper and many other Whole Food Plant-Based doctors. Why? Because rice has too much arsenic these days! Even if we adopt the best known arsenic reduction technique (boiling in excess water, then draining), cancer risk from arsenic in rice remains too high.
