Whole Foods co-founder John Mackey heartily supports WFPB. In fact, he has co-authored two WFPB books. In 2010, Whole Foods adopted the Engine 2 Diet, a plant-based diet designed by Rip Esselstyn.
In 2019, NAACP adopted a resolution to make plant-based meals available in prisons, schools and hospitals.
IPCC, Project Drawdown, UNEP, Green Peace, WWF, Sierra Club and Earth Day Network are some environmental organizations that promote a shift to plant-based dietary patterns. Governments of China, New Zealand and Canada have started taking notice of the relationship between plant-based diets and environmental health.
