Dr Steven Lome is a cardiologist who promotes WFPB. In two fast-paced, engaging and informative videos, he presents an overview of WFPB guidelines for heart disease. Both videos are awesome! I highly recommend that we watch them both to get a quick overview!

After watching this video, it would be helpful to browse through Esselstyn FAQ.

(5 mins, 2019) Advice to Bernie Sanders From a Lifestyle Medicine Cardiologist

Dr Steven Lome has a message for US Senator Bernie Sanders; he explains that the stents in Bernie Sanders' heart are a 'bandage'; they don't address the root cause of coronary artery disease: atherosclerosis (plaque in our arteries).

Dr Steven Lome's Personal Story

Dr Steven Lome was inspired by Forks Over Knives (documentary) through which he learnt about WFPB. Some quotes from the video below.

I was actually angry. I was never taught in 10 years of medical training that heart disease was not only preventible but even reversible in the vast majority of cases!

I was not taught that other chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, autoimmune disorders are actually preventible and treatable via lifestyle approach!

The first symptom in 1 out of 3 people with heart disease is SUDDEN DEATH! So we need to start early prevention.
