1 mg of iron daily from fruit? Dr Greger's Daily Dozen recommends 3 servings 'Other Fruits' (Berries are a food group of their own; remaining fruits are called 'Other Fruits' in the Daily Dozen). As tabulated below, common fruits like apples, bananas, oranges and pears have between 0.2 mg and 0.5 mg per serving (1 cup) of fruit. Let's say we eat 1 banana, 1 apple and 1 orange. Then we get 1 mg iron.

More iron from special fruits? Passion fruit is exceptionally rich in iron. Sapodilla (chikoo) and durian are delectable fruits, rich in iron.
