Flax and chia are popular among Whole Food Plant-Based doctors because they have more Omega-6's than Omega-3's. Dr Esselstyn recommenda flax & chia for EFA (Essential Fatty Acid) requirements. Mastering Diabetes program also recommends flax and chia for EFA requirements.

Which one is better: flax or chia? Dr Greger explains that both seeds are wonderful. However, he prefers flax over chia seeds due to the lignan content of flax which is believed to explain its anticancer efffects. And he has videos explaining that both should be ground for maximum benefits.
