Starting at offset 4:21, Brenda Davis shares her personal story. In her early days as a dietician, she was already in the minority by gravitating towards a vegetarial / vegan lifestyle. What pushed her over the edge to become 100% vegan was an unlikely source.

A very dear friend of hers was on his way to hunting deer. When he stopped by her place, Brenda was concerned. She asked him,

"I don't understand why you want to go kill a deer. They are such beautiful innocent animals. You know, all they want to do is live. Why would you go shoot one when you don't have to?"

Her friend's response changed the course of her life. He said,

"Just because you don't have the guts to pull the trigger does not mean that you are not responsible for the trigger being pulled every time you buy your piece of meat camouflaged in cellophane in a grocrey store. At least the animals I eat had a life. I doubt you could say the same about those sitting on your plate!"

This remark motivated Brenda to study animal farming. She was shocked to learn how pigs and cows were treated. She resolved to become a vegan and inspire others as well.
