Plant-Based Organizations
In the last 20 years, several physician-led organizations have emerged for promoting Whole Food Plant-Based guidelines!

PCRM by Dr Neal Barnard was established in 1985. ACLM (American College of Lifestyle Medicine) was established in 2004. Few people know that LM (Lifestyle Medicine) is a specialization within mainstream Western Medicine, just like cardiology and rheumatology! Today, many more physician-led plant-based organizations exist: Plant Based Health Professionals (PBHP), UK, The Plantrician Project, Forks Over Knives, T Colin Cambell Center for Nutrition Studies, Doctors For Nutrition (DFN), Physicians Association for Nutrition (PAN), Esselstyn Foundation and Ornish Lifestyle Medicine.

Food Plate: All plant-based organizations agree on the basic principles of Whole Food Plant-Based, with meals centered around Whole Grains, Beans, Fruits, Vegetables, Herbs & Spices. However, some details differ. PCRM food plate is very simple! Great for getting started. ACLM food plate is also relatively simple. My favorite is The Plantrician's Plate — their food plate has the best visuals and details!

Low Fat Guideline: Most plant-based organizations advocate the Low Fat Guideline too. The best way to understand the Low Fat Guideline (10% total fat intake) is to study Dr Esselstyn and Dr Ornish.
